At a macro level, we also have more than 38 countries gearing up for SXSWedu 2017. Moving in closer, a wide array of communities will gather at this year’s event, from STEM, K-12, Higher Ed, Design to communities about Diversity, Special Needs, and Innovation, just to name a few.
Let’s break down our make up for 2017, at this moment about 31% attending identify as part of the K-12 community, 22% are joining us from the Education Business sector, 20% attending are part of the Government / Non - Profit community, the Higher Ed community make up about 19%, with Other 5% and Students making up 3%.
If you are looking for a little fun outside of SXSWedu, experience where we call home, Austin, Texas. Take a break from the conference and have a walk down our Historic 6th Street district, where you will hear live music at any corner. You can even experience a little more of what makes Austin weird by walking down to the Ann Richards Bridge at sunset and watch millions of Mexican Free-tailed Bats soar into the purple sunset.
We hope this Austin Guide builds your excitement for an unforgettable time at SXSWedu 2017. We would not be able to do, what we do, if it was not for all the communities that come together to call us home for four days in March. If you haven’t already, register today and help us Keep Austin Weird!
See y’all in March!
