AMD Pre-Conference

SXSWedu is thrilled for the pre conference game design workshop, sponsored by the AMD Foundation, Monday, March 5. The day-long program has been created for educators and organizations, working in the classroom or informal settings with youth aged 8-18, who are interested in using game design as a means to engage students. The AMD Foundation and SXSWedu have extended this exciting opportunity to all SXSWedu 2012 registrants, learn more and register to attend!

The AMD Game On workshop will be a purposeful daylong program to promote the use of youth game development as a tool to inspire learning and improve science, technology, education, and math (STEM) skills.

The day will run from 8:30am - 5:00pm on March 5 at the Hilton Austin Downtown and feature hands-on, BYOT workshop sessions that promote educational game making. With the help of the workshop leaders, and three free game design tools Gamestar Mechanic, Scratch, and Globaloria you will have the knowledge and skills to incorporate the game design strait into your lesson plans, in addition to having tutorials and examples to use as soon as you return to the classroom.
