SXSWedu is thrilled to reveal an array of conference and festival programming! This exciting assortment of announcements includes the initial lineup of community-fueled sessions and workshops, submitted and selected via PanelPicker, in addition to eduFILM screenings, the LAUNCHedu Emcees, and the SXSWedu Playground.

More Than 100 Sessions and Workshops Accepted to Present at SXSWedu 2014

Over 700 community-generated PanelPicker proposals, more than 30,000 public cast votes and the input and support of the SXSWedu Advisory Board has fueled the initial lineup of sessions and workshops accepted to present at SXSWedu 2014! First eduFILM Screening Selections Revealed

The films selected to screen as part of eduFILM offer SXSWedu attendees a rare look at prevalent topics and themes surrounding education today. SXSWedu is pleased to reveal the first three films selected for the 2014 eduFILM lineup!

American Promise, an eye-opening film twelve years in the making, provides a rare look into black middle class life while exploring the common hopes and hurdles of parents navigating their children’s educational journey. We the Parents captures the controversy that ensues when the first group of parents use California’s “Parent Trigger” law to transform their failing school. Finally, Once in a Lullaby: The PS22 Chorus Story, follows a group of 5th graders from Staten Island who went from YouTube famous to being the closing act at the Oscars.

Dynamic Educator and Innovative Entrepreneur Confirmed as LAUNCHedu 2014 Co-Emcees

SXSWedu is thrilled to celebrate the dynamic duo that will emcee the LAUNCHedu education startup competition at SXSWedu 2014. Peter Nilsson, English Teacher and Assistant Dean of Faculty at Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts, and Pathbrite CEO, Heather Hiles will join forces on stage during LAUNCHedu. The SXSWedu Playground, an Exciting Expansion of The Makerspace

The SXSWedu Playground is an exciting evolution of the Makerspace, which debuted last year at the SXSWedu Conference & Festival. The Playground encompasses maker, STEM education, gaming, arts and more in an interactive space designed to celebrate and explore the creative side of learning.
