SXSWedu was pleased to recognize the important work of My Brother's Keeper, the President's initiative to support young men of color in achieving their full potential through education, at this year's event.
Following a featured SXSWedu session recognizing the first year anniversary of My Brother's Keeper, Austin-area education and community leaders assembled for a dialog regarding the City of Austin and MBK. The program included an opening address by Austin Mayor Steve Adler and remarks from Michael D. Smith, special assistant to President Obama and senior director of cabinet affairs for My Brother's Keeper.
Engaged participants generated several commitments and the final recommendations of Austin's community dialog at SXSWedu can be found in this report of their meeting.
