A number of exciting new SXSWedu Conference & Festival announcements were made this week. Keep reading and get the recap of all the excitement to look forward to March 4-7, 2013 in Austin, Texas.

1. Asenath Andrews Keynote

The inspirational founding principal of Catherine Ferguson Academy, an alternative public high school for teen mothers that also provides early education services for children of the high school moms, Asenath Andrews will deliver the opening keynote remarks at SXSWedu on Tuesday, March 5, 2013.

2. MOOC's Keynote Conversation

Massive open online courses (MOOCs) are quickly gaining a lot of traction in the education space. On Wednesday, March 6, 2013, Coursera co-founder Andrew Ng and edX President Anant Agarwal will be featured in a special SXSWedu MOOCs Keynote Conversation moderated by award-winning writer with The New York Times, Laura Pappano.

3. eduSOCIAL

The registrant vehicle to connect and collaborate with other SXSWedu registrants online before, during and after SXSWedu is now live. Log in to eduSOCIAL to update your profile, upload your picture, connect with the SXSWedu Housing Desk and start building your community of innovative educators and colleagues.

4. Future Plans Exhibiting Space Available

The Future Plans College & Career Fair, a free and open to the public event for Central Texas high school students and their families, is accepting exhibiting registrations from institutions or businesses interested in exhibiting at the event.

5. Discount Deadline Fast Approaching

The next and final discount deadline is right around the corner. Register to attend SXSWedu before February 8 to save almost 15% off the walkup rate.
