2016 National Teacher of the Year, Jahana Hayes, just announced to speak at SXSWedu 2017. A veteran history teacher at John F. Kennedy High School in Waterbury, Connecticut, Jahana also sees herself as an advisor, counselor, confidant and protector.

Review each of these entries and vote on the ones you want to see accepted for March. Community voting will run today, August 8, through Friday, September 2.
The PanelPicker process provides a unique glimpse into what's trending throughout the education landscape. This year's submission window resulted in more than 1,300 proposals, on topics that span all stages of the learning life cycle, from early childhood development, through K-12 and higher education as well as continuing education and adult learning. Upon further review, the submissions suggest a thriving desire for international dialog.
Each PanelPicker proposal is thematically aligned with one of sixteen various tracks. Tracks are intended to provide a structure for PanelPicker voters and conference attendees to navigate through the content. Below is a breakdown of this year's submitted PanelPicker proposals by track:

SXSWedu will award a limited number of registration scholarships to educators, students and others who would benefit from attending SXSWedu, March 6-10, 2017, but demonstrate a financial barrier. The deadline to apply for this need-based scholarship is today, Friday, July 29 at 11:59pm PT.
