We partner with the best hotels closest to official SXSW EDU venues, to offer our registrants the lowest rates possible. Our hotel inventory and rates can only be accessed after registration, via our booking portal. All SXSW EDU hotels are within a few short miles of the Austin Convention Center, with the vast majority within walking distance.

How to Use the Hotel Availability Tool
- Enter your Check In/Check Out dates. The page will refresh with only the hotels available for your dates. If your preferred hotel doesn’t populate, it is likely sold out during your dates.
- Under each hotel photo, select See Details & Rates by Night to view the available room types (King Bed, 2 Queen Beds, etc.) This is also where you can find the hotel’s amenities, dining options, and reservation policies.

The Embassy Suites - Downtown is located within walking distance of the Austin Convention Center, 6th St., The Long Center for the Performing Arts, Paramount Theater, Mexican-American Cultural Center, ACL Live at the Moody Theater, Lady Bird Lake, Congress Ave. Bridge, Palmer Events Center, Brush Square, Palm, Republic Square Parks, and SoCo shopping district.
Reservation Agreement
SXSW will charge a $50 processing fee for reservation changes (including cancellations) that shorten the length of stay when changed within 28 days of arrival.
Hotel Reservation Policy:
- Valid credit card required to guarantee reservation. (If the credit card on file will expire prior to the check-in date, guest is responsible for updating payment information.)
- An early departure fee of $200 will be charged by the hotel if the reservation is reduced in length of stay after check-in.
Hotel Deposit & Cancellation Policies:
- The hotel will charge a deposit equal to first night’s room and tax in late February for room reservations. If the credit card used to guarantee the room is different from the card to be used for the deposit, please provide the new number to SXSW Housing prior to February 7, otherwise we cannot guarantee the hotel will charge the new card number.
- Guests who no-show or cancel within 72 hours of their scheduled arrival will forfeit their deposit. If a deposit has not been processed, the hotel will charge a penalty equal to the first night’s room and tax to the guest’s credit card.
